Office Snack Box Size Guide: How Much Do You Actually Need Per Week?

Ordering too little leaves the break room empty by Wednesday. Ordering too much means stale snacks on Friday. Here's how to actually size your office snack box.

Ordering the wrong amount of snacks creates two equally bad problems. Too little, and the break room runs dry by Wednesday — which is almost worse than having no snack program at all, because it sets an expectation and then breaks it. Too much, and you're looking at stale snacks, wasted budget, and a break room that feels cluttered rather than curated.

Getting your office snack box size right takes a little math, but not much.

The Baseline Formula

Start with this: plan for 2 snack servings per person per in-office workday.

That accounts for a mid-morning grab and an afternoon one — the two points in the day when people are most likely to visit the break room. Not everyone will snack twice a day, but having enough for two servings per person means you won't run out before people who do want something can get it.

From there, multiply by your team size and the number of in-office days in your order cycle.

Example: 15-person team, fully in-office, 5 days/week, 4-week order cycle.
15 people × 2 servings × 5 days × 4 weeks = 600 servings per order.

Adjusting for Hybrid Schedules

If your team is hybrid, estimate your average daily in-office headcount. If you have 20 people total but typically only 10 are in on any given day, plan around 10.

Also factor in whether certain days pull more people in. Tuesday through Thursday tend to be heavier in most hybrid setups. Weight your estimate toward the mid-week days.

What Our Box Sizes Cover

All Office Snack Boxes come with 150 snacks as the standard configuration. Here's how that plays out:

5-person team: ~3–4 week supply with daily snacking
10-person team: ~1.5–2 week supply
15–20 person team: ~weekly supply
25+ person team: Multiple boxes may be appropriate

These are estimates. The best approach is to track your first order and note how quickly it runs out, then adjust.

One Box or Multiple?

For larger teams, ordering multiple boxes isn't just about quantity — it's also about variety. Two Essentials Boxes gives you more volume. One Essentials and one Premium gives you more range.

Browse our box options and build the right combination, or see how it works if you're new to the service. The right size office snack box usually takes one or two orders to dial in — and from there, you set it and forget it.
